D. CRAZY QUILT VEST

TWO DAYS

Highlight a velvet vest with crazy quilt back section and yokes. The vest can be used for special occasions or dressed down using wools, cottons, and denims. The crazy quilt sections are worked separately and applied to the vest later. Come to class with lining, fronts and back cut out in fancy fabric of your choice. Choose a pattern that fits you well. Bring remainder of fabric for crazy quilting. First day is designing and basic crazy quilting using the Montano Center Piece Method. Second day is devoted to embroidery and embellishments.

• Variety ribbons
• Fancy buttons & doodads
• 4mm silk ribbon, variety of

colours
• Variety-embroidery threadst
• 1 yd. muslin for base
• Fancy fabrics (variety of

textures, prints, solids)
• Laces, doilies & hankies
• 1 yd. velvet, moiré, or satin

for body of vest (cut out)

• Beads, Nymo beading thread,
beading needle (#10 sharps)
• 1 yd. lining (cut out)
• Variety of buttons & doodads
• 12” rattail for button loops
• Fabric for backing yokes and

back panel (the same as

lining preferred)
