G. EMBELLISHED SILK TIE

A silk tie embroidered with a few basic stitches can become a one of a kind art piece and will bring hours of pleasure to the wearer be it man or woman. Judith offers two designs ñ SEAWEED TIE or WILLOW BRANCH TIE. This is a wonderful class for those beginners and intermediate students who enjoy embroidery and silk ribbon work. (NOTE: Student must bring a purchased tie or a tie blank that has been dyed.) Featured in Belle Armoire

SUPPLIES (Please refer to the basic supplies list also.)

SEAWEED TIE
• One silk tie
• 1 yard variegated 4 mm silk

ribbon for ruched seaweed
• 1 yard 4 mm silk ribbon

for roses
• 1/3 yard 4 mm silk

ribbon – green
• Variegated metallic

thread – fine weight – for

water lines
• 2 variegated 12 strand
silk threads – two different colour variations for the
featherstitch seaweed and the chain stitch weeds.

WILLOW BRANCH TIE
• One hank of twelve stranded

variegated silk thread for the

willow branch worked in chain

and featherstitch.
• One silk tie in a solid or

mottled design
• One hank of solid or

variegated silk thread to

create the lazy daisy leaves.
